Paul Pyrcik

Artist Statement
My name is Paul Pyrcik. As a woodturner, I use a motorized, high-speed lathe along with a selection of sharp, hand-held tools to both remove and shape spinning wood.
My goal is to design and create something beautiful while showcasing the natural beauty already present in various species of hardwoods. Each piece selected for turning serves both as the physical “canvas” and as an artistic inspiration.
During and following the turning process, I employ a range of texturing, carving, coloring, and finishing techniques to enhance each piece.
Unique to this form of creative art, admirers are encouraged to pick up and handle completed objects. Turnings are best appreciated when touched to further explore the quality of workmanship, balance, and finish.
So, if you are so inclined, please ignore any signage or warnings to the contrary, and feel free to touch my turned art. But please do so with care!
