Artist Statement

My professional background includes degrees in biology and chemistry and a masters degree in curriculum and instruction. But, for the past 10 years, I have immersed myself in acquiring skills in oil painting. In my quest to understand and create impressionistic art , I have had the opportunity to attend workshops with some amazing teachers here in the Northwoods. I strive to produce an emotional response from the viewer and I have been honored with numerous recognition awards including a best of show. My artwork is in a few galleries in Wisconsin and one in California.
I like to remember Richard Schmidt’s words as a reminder when I paint: “ So, you ask if you have talent? The answer is yes…..now! Get to work and paint!”
