Manito Art League hosts 60th Annual Art Show in Manitowish Waters

The beloved tradition once again brought together artists, collectors, and community members to celebrate creativity in the Northwoods.

The Manito Art League proudly marked a milestone this summer, hosting its 60th Annual Art Show in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin.

The four-day exhibition featured an impressive 188 works of fine art created by 79 regional artists, ranging from paintings and sculpture to fiber, photography, and mixed media. The variety and quality of the work on display reflected both the depth of talent in the Northwoods and the passion of the artists who continue to make the show a must-see cultural event. Visitors were treated to an atmosphere that blended sophistication with small-town warmth, making the experience both inspiring and welcoming.

Adding to the excitement, $1,350 in prizes were awarded throughout the show. Fourteen pieces were recognized with Judge’s Selections, while the coveted Patron’s Choice and People’s Choice Awards gave attendees the opportunity to celebrate their own favorites. These honors not only recognized individual achievement but also underscored the spirit of connection between artists and the community.

The show also carried a spirit of giving. Twenty-four additional works of art were donated by Manito Art League members for a Silent Auction, which raised an impressive $3,020 in support of scholarships for aspiring young artists. The generosity of members, combined with the enthusiastic participation of bidders, demonstrated the League’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of creative talent.

None of this success would have been possible without the dedicated volunteers who organized, staffed, and supported the event. From carefully hanging the artwork to greeting visitors with a smile, their efforts ensured that the 60th Annual Show was not only a celebration of art but also a true reflection of the community spirit that has sustained the Manito Art League for six decades.
