“Climbing up to a place where stone is dark under froth” (WB Yeats). Fly fishing is an art – a call to those who listen to the quiet running of the water and the gentle landing of the fly near the dark form under the rock. This painting evolved from my husband’s trips to the Brule River on the Wisconsin/Michigan border. One very early morning, a purple mist rose above the brown water and the colors of the early summer greens pronounced that day as his “Opening Day…”
